This article explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) tools on teaching practices in the Philippines. It examines whether AI is making educators complacent or enabling them to become more strategic. Drawing on studies and reports, the piece highlights how AI tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot reduce administrative burdens, allowing teachers to focus on deeper instruction. While many educators view AI positively, concerns remain regarding ethics, infrastructure, and student critical thinking. The shift requires clear policies, training, and equitable access to ensure AI serves as a strategic tool in education rather than a shortcut.
