Abstract

This article examines how Filipino students are using AI chatbots like ChatGPT for learning and completing schoolwork. While these tools support grammar, research, and writing tasks, concerns arise over student dependency, misinformation, and diminished critical thinking. Studies across the Philippines reveal that AI enhances efficiency but must be used with ethical guidelines and proper instruction. The article argues for balanced integration of AI into education, supported by clear policies and digital literacy efforts to ensure it complements rather than compromises learning.
